Who are Gardin?

Gardin is a UK based VC-backed startup on a mission to create a more nutritious and sustainable world. We are developing optical remote sensing technology and analytics to measure plant physiology so food producers can grow higher quality produce at lower costs & reduce waste.

Gardin’s tools and technologies will empower food producers to grow superior yields with the highest nutritional density; optimally, sustainably and affordably.

Farmers want to farm, and we understand this. Our operating system runs in the background, constantly monitoring produce, optimising resources; energy, water, nutrients and providing insights to the farmer so they have a birds-eye view over where they can intervene as and when required.

Farmers get a higher quality product while reducing their operating cost and carbon footprint - a win-win for the farmer, the planet and our ever-increasing population.

Who we are looking for

Gardin is seeking a talented full-stack software engineer who possesses bold ideas, a methodical mindset and the tenacity to crack open and solve complex engineering challenges, to join us as we re-define how food growers understand and optimise the health of their crops.

You'll be an integral member of our close-knit early-stage engineering team, helping us to create software to power our new groundbreaking sensor platform; encompassing the collection of scientific and engineering telemetry from our sensors in the field, and transforming, analysing and aggregating this data at high scale in the cloud, to serve a variety of data science, machine learning and reporting use cases.

You'll have the opportunity to work across the entire backend platform codebase and data stack, ranging from developing Python software components managing the operation of the sensors themselves, through to designing and implementing complex data pipelines running in the cloud, that must be able to seamlessly cope with extreme volumes of streaming IoT data.

You may also be building internal tools to help our engineers provision, manage and diagnose sensors, and create new APIs to allow our customers and other downstream products to access their data in a secure and scalable fashion.

With us preparing to scale dramatically over the next 12 to 18 months, this is an incredible opportunity to join Gardin at a critical stage in our journey, and through your thoughts, ideas and contributions, make a very real and direct impact on our future success.

What you will be achieving with us
