Who are Gardin?

Gardin is a UK based VC-backed startup on a mission to create a more nutritious and sustainable world. We are developing optical remote sensing technology and analytics to measure plant physiology so food producers can grow higher quality produce at lower costs & reduced waste.  Gardin’s tools and technologies will empower food producers to grow superior yields with the highest nutritional density; optimally, sustainably and affordably.

Farmers want to farm, and we understand this. Our operating system runs in the background, constantly monitoring produce, optimising resources; energy, water, nutrients and providing insights to the farmer so they have a birds-eye view over where they can intervene as and when required.

Farmers get a higher quality product while reducing their operating cost and carbon footprint - a win-win for the farmer, the planet and our ever-increasing population.

Who we are looking for

Gardin is seeking a talented front-end developer who has previous experience of leading the implementation of incredible web-based user interfaces to join us as we redefine how food growers understand and optimise the health of their crops.

You'll be an integral member of our close-knit early-stage engineering team, and will primarily focus on designing, developing and testing intuitive frontend web experiences for our new groundbreaking sensor platform, but will also be expected to engage in and contribute to the ongoing development of our backend stack too, in line with current business goals and priorities.

In a nutshell, we’re looking for a developer who has experience of both sides of the software stack, but who has most recently been working as a front-end developer and wishes to continue developing their experience in this area.

In this role, you will have full technical autonomy over the development of our frontend applications, providing a rare opportunity for you to build these products from the ground up in the ways that you think are best, without any legacy code to maintain, nor any pre-existing restrictions on what tech stack or development approach to use. You'll be fully entrusted to make the right technical decisions to meet the design and functional requirements provided by our product and design teams, and will be the go-to authority on all things "frontend dev"-related.

With us preparing to scale dramatically over the next 12 to 18 months, this is an incredible opportunity to join Gardin at a critical stage in our journey, and through your thoughts, ideas and contributions, make a very real and direct impact on our future success.
